The Lynchburg Patriots Girls’ Developmental Basketball Program is open to girls ages 12 and under—no homeschool requirement. We practice once a week and play Saturday games in the Impact League at TRBC (Thomas Road Baptist Church). Every player receives equal playing time, with a clear focus on fundamental skill development and a positive team experience.

Full Program Details

The Patriots Girls’ Developmental Program teaches young athletes the building blocks of basketball in a fun, encouraging setting. It’s perfect for beginners and developing players who want more reps, great coaching, and guaranteed time on the court.

Who Can Join

  • Girls only, ages 12 and under

  • Eligibility: Open to all families—you do not need to be homeschooled

Schedule & Location

  • Practice: Once per week (focused, high-repetition skill sessions)

  • Games: Saturdays in the Impact League at TRBC (Thomas Road Baptist Church)

  • Season Dates: Posted with the league schedule (TBA if not yet released)

What We Emphasize

  • Fundamentals first: ball-handling, passing, footwork, shooting form, layups, defense, spacing, and game awareness

  • Equal playing time: every player is guaranteed meaningful minutes

  • Positive coaching: age-appropriate instruction, clear goals, and encouragement

  • Team values: effort, sportsmanship, and learning how to practice the right way

What to Expect

  • Progressive drills that build confidence and coordination

  • Short, clear teaching points with plenty of live reps

  • Simple team concepts (transition, basic man-to-man principles, moving without the ball)
